AFTERCARE GUIDE

Getting a great tattoo is only 50% of the journey; the other 50% depends on how well you take care of it during the healing process.

I. CHOOSE YOUR METHOD

METHOD 1: Using Protective Film (Second Skin)
  • Duration: Keep the film on for 3 to 5 days. It provides a perfect sterile environment for regeneration.
  • Normal Appearance: Fluid buildup (brown/dark) under the film is normal. It is NOT an infection.
  • Removal: Use warm water, find a corner, and stretch the film parallel to the skin. Do not pull upwards.
METHOD 2: Traditional Care (Air Dry)
  • Cleaning: Gently wash with lukewarm water and fragrance-free antibacterial soap.
  • Frequency: Wash 2-3 times daily. Pat dry with clean paper towels (no cloth towels).
  • Moisturizing: After 2 days, apply a VERY thin layer of Tattoo Balm.

II. ACTIVITY & EXERCISE

  • First 48 Hours: Complete rest is advised. Heavy activity increases body heat and sweat, which may lead to infection.
  • Avoid Stretching: Do not strain the tattooed area (e.g., no squats for leg tattoos) as it may crack the scabs.
  • Sweat is the Enemy: If you sweat, clean the tattoo immediately as sweat contains bacteria and salt.
  • Gym Equipment: Never let your new tattoo touch gym benches or machines directly.

III. GOLDEN RULES & DIET

- Wash hands before touching.
- Wear loose cotton clothes.
- Stay hydrated.
- Apply thin balm layers.
- No scratching or picking.
- No swimming/sauna (2 weeks).
- No direct sunlight.
- No tight clothing.

Dietary Restrictions (7-10 days): Avoid beef, water spinach (prevents keloids); seafood, sticky rice (prevents itching); and alcohol (speeds up healing).
